Day 16: Imagine Your Perfect Day
“Happiness consists of living each day as if it were the first day of your honeymoon and the last
day of your vacation”
– Leo Tolstoy
Think about your life as it is right now. What would be a perfect day for you? What
would you be doing? What would you NOT be doing? Who would be with you? What
would your perfect day look, smell, taste, feel and sound like? Read through your 100
things list again and then take 30 minutes to jot down your first thoughts (don’t think
about it too much, just write!) about your perfect day. Just like in your ideal life
narrative, keep your sentences in present tense. Also, remember to keep your perfect
day within a 24-hour period to make it seem as real as possible for you.
My Perfect day…..
I wake up early before the sun comes up and start my day with the Lord. I spend time in prayer, meditation, praise and reading His word. I eat a healthy breakfast and go outside and run 3-5miles. I spend some quality time with myself before starting my day. Which includes watching the news, reading a book and journaling. I teach a class or have a speaking engagement. I spend time a my favorite coffee shop and blog. I go meet a friend for lunch and enjoy great conversation with lots of laughs. I go shopping and buy myself something nice. I get a facial. I take a walk on the beach and enjoy being in the moment. I take myself out to dinner and make myself inaccessible. I come home relax and watch my favorite show, Criminal Minds. I eat a bowl of butter pecan and cookies & cream ice cream. I play video games on my Nintendo DS. Play with my puppy. I have my own dance party at home as I listen to my favorite music mixed by my favorite DJ! I enjoy being alone with no demands, time constraints or worries. I end the night with a stimulating conversation, until I fall asleep 🙂
“Perfect days” can be hard to come by. For me they are far few and in between, if ever. Your perfect day may not consist of everything you would love to do but you can make every day perfect. Take control of your day and incorporate something that would make it feel perfect. Add at least one thing you love to do in your day and it make it better than yesterday.
Share your thoughts! What is one thing you love to do that you can add to your day? How would this change your day?
